Oetiker opens new plant in Poland
25th September 2018
Oetiker Group hosted the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony at a new plant in Legnickie Pole, Poland this year. The 7,500 square meter production and logistics site was constructed on a greenfield site to supply millions of high-end clamps, rings and ‘quick connect’ connecting solutions to customers in the vehicle and manufacturing industries.
Dr. Thomas Meier Bickel, CE) of Oetiker Group, thanked attendees and commented, "We are excited to open our first facility in Eastern Europe, allowing us to better serve our customers based in this rapidly growing region. Poland already represents a significant portion of our revenues in Europe. Our new production center allows us to expand our global multi-regional setup so that we stay close to our customers."
The plant will produce a portion of the multi-crimp rings product group. Designed for cooling and heating and air intake systems in the vehicle powertrain, these rings offer ultimate space-saving, optimum stepless sealing, efficient and reliable installation and resistance to high pressure and expansion.
The Poland facility will also establish the European assembly and distribution hub for its Quick Connectors line. Oetiker Quick Connectors (QCs) are a connecting solution for pressure lines carrying media. They generate significant savings in assembly time, space required, assembly costs, reduced warranties and reduced injuries due to repetitive motion. Thanks to tool-free assembly, Oetiker’s QCs are a good solution for many applications and are particularly suitable as a connecting element for oil and/or coolant and heating lines to turbochargers, engines, and transmissions.
The new Poland plant is conveniently located with highway access within 3km from the site and with well-developed logistics networks. The company has already hired 20 employees, and expects to add manufacturing and non-manufacturing jobs to the area over the next five years, in line with growth of the overall business in the region.
